Thats how my wife Karen describe the last few weeks until we leave for the sales .

All the yearlings are going super and are excatly where I want them at this stage .

I descibe yearling prep like a trainer getting a horse ready for a gr1, the only differnce is Im getting 13 ready to rumble and I own/part own 12 and Dad owns the other one, the pressures on!!!

The enjoyment I get seeing how they develope and what there attitudes and nature are like is very satisfying to me .

Just going back at 9pm at night to rug them is great, you see if there eaten up, give them a rub on the jaw and the wither, just to say g'day and make a mate out of them .

Thats what is yearling prep is to me, I live for it and I love the rush you get when they sell real well and I look for a dog to kick if the don't .

I love the sale attmosphere, the pressure to get a good price, trying to work out who is on the yearling, seeing trainers/agents body language, there quite tricky sometimes. I once had a More than Ready colt and Tim Martin loved the way he gallop on his Dvd, he hung around the Vinery draft until we paraded him for someone else, really like him and never looked at him again until he was in the outside ring , bought him for $95,000 and I never new he was on him until the fall of the hammer.

Must say, I have used that myself buying weanlings.
